I’m a software engineer who enjoys working on difficult, open-ended problems where the answer isn’t obvious. Most recently, at QuarterMill, I worked on systems that help verify information from documents and make the reasoning behind those results easier to follow. Before that, at The Tinkering Society, I built a system that could independently verify and act on claims recorded on a blockchain. At Metry AI, I rebuilt the company’s website for multiple languages and built a system that helped identify users who might be at risk of leaving. Outside of work, I’ve built Vigil, an observability platform that helps developers understand what went wrong in their applications. I also worked on a research project focused on teaching a web crawler how to find useful pages more efficiently. It outperformed seven other approaches and was 9.25× faster than a basic baseline. I also enjoy contributing to open-source projects, including Microsoft’s MarkItDown and Astral’s Ruff.
